The Question

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) "The Flood" already was an album as beautiful as can be. "The Question" is in the same vein, and even goes a step further with regard to the songwriting, featuring sublime large-scale horn and string arrangements that are not of this world. Maybe I should issue a warning, because this music is highly addictive, but on the other hand... what a wonderful addiction! Favorite track: Something More.

Gavin Hellyer Tulalah are a group from Melbourne and this album is, I think, very very good indeed. A big but well crafted and gentle sound with beautifully inventive arrangements, orchestrations and female lead vocals. Highly recommended. Favorite track: Lungs.
Dr. Beaf

Dr. Beaf A change to the original line up has left little impact on the character of their sound. The arrangements are sublime; exploring dynamics, phrasing, focusing on the vocal harmonies, keeping the time signatures away from the conventional and letting other sections meander to relax the pace. And this is all I the first 3 track preview. The Flood, the best debut I've heard from a band in ages, will be hard to eclipse but I think they could pip it. Fingers crossed!
